Specific Purpose: I want to persuade my audience to register as organ/tissue donors.
Thesis Statement: More people should start to think about donating their organs because: (1) donating organs to someone can save the life of the recipient ; (2) improve the quality of life of the recipient; and (3) because everyone can help these people in need with a simple step.

In my opinion, it is incredible how you can use the organ of someone who died, or from a living donor, and use that organ to give a new opportunity of life to other people.
So, I decided to research more about organ donation to understand the importance of being a donor, which can possibly save the lives of many other people.
[Topic Justification] The number of people in need of organs is substantially much higher than the number of registered donors.
According to a publication by the WebMD website, the number of people who need a transplant is way higher than the number of people who are willing to donate their organs ("Organ Donation Facts" ).
Many people die waiting for an organ transplant.
And who knows maybe one of us, will be in that situation one day.

[Extent and seriousness of the problem] Many people die waiting for an organ transplant.
According to statistics from the Donate Life America website, every ten minutes a new patient is added to the national organ transplant waiting list ("Organ Donation").
Unfortunately, an estimate of 21 people die every day because the organs they needed were not donated on time ("Organ Donation").
Well if you do the math those 21 people, average around 7600 people who die from this cause every year.
These people who need an organ to survive have friends and a family, who suffer , who feel the same pain as their loved ones, hoping that they receive a call letting them know that they have organ to save the life of their loved one. Put yourself in that situation (Paulson).
In addition to this, we also have people in the United States who are not in risk of death, but who are in need of a tissue transplant to improve the quality of their lives.
