WHY ARE YOU GAINING WEIGHT?
Enjoying high calorie food and still wondering why you are gaining weight? It shouldn’t be surprising if your weight shoots up after regular late night samosatreatsand other high calorie junk food. It’s obvious that you will end up gaining those extra kilos after you indulge. The question is, what if you do everything right and still gain weight? Now let’s learn about all the causes of your weight gain.

1) Sleep deprivation
When you sleep less than what you should be doing typically, you tend to put on weight in two ways. Firstly, when you are awake late at night, wanting to sleep but can’t, the first thing anybody does is to hunt in the fridge to grab those yummy leftovers which will weight gain. The other way you gain weight due to sleep deprivation could be the changes happening in your body’s biochemistry, changes in hormone levels that increase hunger and appetite, and also make you feel less full after eating.

2) Stress
Observe your eating pattern the next time you go through stress— do you eat more? Less? If you tend to eat more, it is because your body goes into survival mode, leading to the production of more cortisol, a stress hormone to combat stress and make you feel good. This causes an increase in appetite, which makes us reach out for those high calorie comfort foods, and that is why stress is directly proportional to overeating and weight gain.
