The use of excessive force by law enforcement officers has resulted in the loss of countless innocent lives, and it is high time that we take action to put an end to this injustice. One of the main issues is the lack of training and education for law enforcement officers. Police officers need to be trained in different types of techniques, conflict resolution, and cultural sensitivity to better understand the communities they serve. This will help to reduce tensions between the police and the public and prevent unnecessary violence. We also need to address the structural racism that has long been inserted in many police departments. This means acknowledging and confronting the favoritism and harm that exist within law enforcement and working to eliminate them. We need to work towards ending the shame surrounding mental health issues and addiction, which are often the source of many interactions between police and the public.
