There has been a huge society problem with police brutality. There has been unnecessary shootings, severe beatings, fatal chokings, and rough treatment have all contributed to the problem of police brutality in America. Most of the these incidents aren’t ever reported. These incidents mostly take place in fourteen of America’s largest cities. Through some research, most if the police brutality has gone unpunished for many unvalid reasons.

Gun Control. Every 7-8 hours a day a police officer kills an American citizen. Death caused by policemen in America is a common thing. The number is way higher than what it needs to be. In 2014, 1,194 American citizens were killed. In 2015, 1,304 Americans were killed. This year nearly 300 American citizens were killed and will increase from the past years (copcrisis.com). The SWAT team is always the most armed than any other policemen. But they are mostly the policemen killing American citizens. Also, police are always armed and trained to kill.The heaviest weaponry is carried by the SWAT teams during drug raids, where as the ACLU has noted, communities of color …show more content…

Nearly most of the time policemen work with a partner and they use way more force than needed on American citizens. “Witnessed fellow officers using more force than necessary.” The partner uses force on someone that isn’t resisting (copcrisis.com). The law requires the Division of Criminal Justice to use legitimate force if it’s necessary to make an arrest, or to keep the peace. Also to investigate whenever an officer uses deadly force that causes a man or woman’s death. They are in charge of the investigation and prosecution of all criminal matters in the Superior Court. It must also determine whether the officer’s use of the deadly force was appropriate under standards established by statute.
