1. Unilever Background Unilever is one of the leading producer of food and consumer products in the world. Its consist of two parent company with the same group of directors, one in the United Kingdom and the other in the Netherlands. This resulted due to the poor economic situation in 1908. Jurgen and van den Bergh actual founder of Unilever initially started in the production of margarine and because of high competion in this sector at that time, they decided to avoid paying double taxation by forming two parent company. Moreso, Unilever portfolio is made up of three huge categories, they produce food products such as Breyers ice cream, Gorton´s frozen food, margarine etc and 52 percent revenues is benefited, for the cleaning products like laundry detergents 22 percent revenues is yield and personal care iterms like Dove soap, deodorants etc give one-quarter of sales . Some main competitors of Unilever are : Nestle S.A:, L Óréal, Coca-Cola, Johnson & Johndon, Del Monte Food Company etc (reference for business, 2014). Unilever products are sold in over 190 countries and over 2 billion consumers use Unilever product every day and around 400 brands from which 14 results to sales that exceed one billion euro a year. The brand are mainly on the health and wellbeing of people. Thus, its turnover in 2013 was about 49.8 billion and with more than 174000 employees.
