Learning is a dynamic process that involves gaining and sharing of knowledge learned. I perceive education as a life-long process whose foundation is developed at the early stage of childhood. Early childhood education forms the building blocks of learning by providing children with the basic concepts of academics emotions and social life. As an instructor I feel challenged to provide a conducive environment for kids, to learn all the necessary skills and concepts which would develop them to all-around individuals in future. Incorporating playing in early childhood programs enables children to think creatively thus boosting their ability to troubleshoot a complex problem in a challenging environment. Purposeful play impacts positively on a child’s intellectual, emotional physical and emotional development. On a typical preschool day, I would incorporate both structured and unstructured sessions to enable children to learn at their own rate. Through playing to learn, children learn from their efforts and creating a path of ever increasing knowledge. Children further think as they reflect on their world and are encouraged to make choices and individual decisions. An effective play to learn to comprise of different entities, all geared to give children a diverse knowledge. This approach is based on enhancing children knowledge on number concepts, vocabularies, creative planning and logical problem-solving. Mathematical concepts form the basic foundation of education and thus improving children mathematical skills would not only boost they knowledge on arithmetic’s but also lay a strong foundation for other future prospective careers. Notably, improving a child creative thinking skills translates to the overall child’s growth and development which is primarily anchored on social, intellectual and emotional aspects. Incorporating math into a child field of interest would be an ideal strategy to enhance mathematical skills on children. With the playing to learn strategy on board, introducing games that involve counting or numerical concepts would further boost children arithmetical knowledge. Additionally, as an instructor, I would encourage maths beyond the class. This is achievable by engaging children in fun actives such as counting, comparing and ordering. Interesting activities that children would be in interested in include counting cars on the road, toys when playing food items during meals and cartoons in a
