The cell phone addiction assignment was by far one of the most challenging assignments I have ever done. This assignment required me to give up my phone for 15 classes. I slowly started to notice and realize why this assignment was called the cell phone “addiction” assignment. This is because it was an experiment to see student’s addiction to their phones. Just like any other addict, I was having troubles performing my daily class activities. As the days progressed it became easier for me to do my class tasks and I began to function normally towards the last days of this experiment. The attachment base theory proposed that our early life experiences with major figures are responsible for our well-being, namely parents or other caregivers are at the root of our connection to the adults with whom we form close relationships. While we are small we tend to be attached to our stuffed toys, we start to replace our caregivers with these objects. If our caregivers were not in sight the teddy bear would be with us to prevent us from feeling lonely, which is why these objects were helpful in make a transition from our dependent stage into independence. As we grow up we tend to find other things to replace our teddy bears with, I personally replaced it with my cell phone. I replaced it with my cell phone because it allows me to form social connections with my friends, families and acquaintances all around. It also allowed me to keep memories such as pictures. My phone personally makes me feel less lonely, this is because it makes me feel like I have a friend beside me at all times. My cell phone allows me to socialize with those that aren’t even around me. Even though this aspect of my phone is positive, and that I could talk to multiple people at multiple locations it caused me to forget how to socialize with those in close
