When the photo essay is initially opened, the theme of shopping leads to the assumption that this person will have high values of consumerism. However, when the photo-essay is viewed further, it is revealed that shopping is more of a chore than a benefit for this person. The photo essay features overwhelming choice that is faced in the western world – such as the slide featuring David Jones and Myer. In a third world country, not many people would have the luxury of complaining about having too many shops. Blake’s attitude towards consumerist culture is shown through the photo of Christmas decorations out in September, showing that it is only there to make money rather than to celebrate the spirit of Christmas. Blake could have captioned the post as “Yay Christmas is coming!” or “Can’t wait to go Christmas shopping!” but instead he wrote “Oh god no, it has already started and it’s only September!” which confirms this point. Only having shopping options in big, busy shopping centres has many downsides – it can be hard to find what you want, it can be noisy and it can take a long time to actually buy what you need. An account planner can take this into consideration and consider accommodating people like Blake who want easier access to products without having to go to a shopping centre. Having a company have an online option would be perfect for customers like Blake. The products can be browsed from the comfort of his own home and delivered so he doesn’t even have to leave his house. One flaw in an online system is for those who do not have time to wait around for delivery. Another option for an online website is to show what products are available in which store. Customers can order and pay for their items online and go pick up their goods from the store – this will save a lot of time having to find specific items, or waiting in lines to pay for
