Introduction
I want to tell you a little about Physical Therapy, some of its benefits that allow you to achieve optimal health, wellness and mobility. Physical Therapy consists of many different treatment programs that are centered around the medical needs of each patient; electric pulse therapy, exercise, and chiropractic therapy are ones that I find to be the most helpful when suffering from a herniated disc.

I know you hear “electric therapy” and think back to those old movies when the doctors would put those little paddles up against a mental patient’s head right? But in realty the therapy focuses on the nerves and muscles for many areas of the body to alleviate pain, in my case it was on the sciatic nerve for my herniated disc. The stimuli from the pulse sensations relieves the pressure on the nerves from a constant but vigorous vibration. The relief is almost instantaneous depending on the severity and sensitivity of the location being treated. Its uses vary from nerves and muscle to simple tension in the neck. A patient’s dedication to their personal regiment prescribed by the chiropractor and physical therapist in treatment. I know you hear “exercise” and you think hard work and sweat. Let me tell you these exercises are simple and should be continued daily. Avoid irritation of the nerves is key. This will allow solace for the muscles and joints. In my case I would do treadmill walks, bike riding, and weight lifting with my legs. I sound muscular, but actually all of these exercises helped to make sure that I keep mobility in my hips. If to much pressure accumulated on that never my hips and legs would get spasms causing it very difficult to walk. Before you ask “yes” I have fallen down because of those spasms which are unavoidable unless you are willing to do the
