As an athlete, I have been through the ins and outs, up and downs, and everything in between just like everyone else. I’ve gone through many great wins and accomplishments, hardships and losses, and setbacks due to injuries and covid. Although I have been fortunate enough to have not had any major injuries such as a broken bone or torn ligament, I have had injuries that set me back in my training and required some time off. As a way to help me recover faster and gain back my strength in the injured areas I did, as most athletes do, physical therapy. I had my weekly visits and each time worked so that I could get back to back to doing the things I loved and yearned to do. I have always been a perfectionist and prioritized structure and routine which is needed if considering a field in physical therapy, all of these which coincide with the characteristics of a gold personality (Lowry 9). As a physical therapist, I will need to possess skills that include “communication, compassion, detail orientation, physical stamina, resourcefulness, and time management” (How to Become One- Physical Therapist). Because of my true colors, becoming a physical therapist would satisfy both of my more prominent colors because I will be able to do a job where I am able to be hands-on and active instead of being stuck in a sedentary office job, while also being able to appease my organizational and routine-based …show more content…

“Physical therapists entering the occupation need a Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree” (How to Become One- Physical Therapists). Earning a DPT is what causes continued education after the standard college-level courses, and although I know that pursuing a career in physical therapy will take longer, I have always enjoyed going to school knowing that I am going to gain so much knowledge. Unlike some, I actually enjoy going to school and learning, especially when it’s a topic I'm interested
