This radical ideology can be traced back to after World War I. Author of Working Hard for the American Dream, Dr. Randi Storch, offers an illustration that transcends back to the earlier years of what is defined as the “American Century”.
It is my mission to provided treatment that not only rehabilitates, but also educates patients on avoiding future injury, and maintaining current functional status. I will implement individualized treatments for each patient tailored to meet their goals, and help them lead healthy and independent lives. I will strive to make treatment a collaborative effort with various other health care professionals in order to promote health and health seeking behavior. One year of physical therapy education has certainly provided me with a wealth of new knowledge, experiences, and outlooks on the profession. One thing I am glad to see in my initial mission statement is a focus on patient education.
College is often regarded as a time of exploration, a time to discover interests and passions that ignite a desire to seek sagacity in a field that will alleviate the burdens of others and fulfill one’s self wholeheartedly. It is essential to me that my college career allows me to strive for educational excellence and moral enrichment simultaneously. Through the Pre-Physical Therapy track it will be my focus to obtain an education to help others as I have been helped in the past. Restoring movement and functionality to someone’s life is deeply connected to SPU’s vision, for the work that physical therapists do is equally as transformative for the therapist as it is to the patient. To ensure someone receives the treatment they need to carry out the life they want is paramount
After looking at all of my skills sets and interests. The first career that I will choosing is being a Physical Therapist. I have chosen this career because I was not really sure what I wanted to be but since I like being active, I thought that being a physical therapist might be a good idea . I think I will be successful at it because if I like to help people and I myself I like to gain and build muscle so that will motivate me to help them. Well at the moment I work at a nursing home as a receptionist and we have a physical therapy department in there.

Philosophy of Physical Therapy Are we predestined to make the choices we make or do we make them along the way? I had never taken this into consideration until the moment my cousin was diagnosed with cancer. The moment I heard about it I've realized I had to do something I had to help. I needed to make a change in the world. Seeing someone in so much pain had never caused me as much pain.
When I grow up as a child, I was setting goals for a future and what to do in life. I choose to pursue Physical therapist assistant which it is a reason why I want to help people, be more responsible, give good attitude to the patients. Next 5 years I will be working in different states at hospital or clinic. I may change to undecided major whether if I want to pursue different major. According to Occupational outlook handbook” Physical therapist assistant observe the patients before, during and after therapy; making notes patient’s status and report it to a physical therapist.’’.
Section A Introduction The job role I will be researching is a physiotherapist which falls into the sector of health. Sector and Employer The physiotherapist can work in the statutory health care sector, which is controlled and funded by the government. This sector is mostly supported by people who pay taxes and national insurance etc.
Executive Summary: It is unfair that physical therapy is considered a “specialty service” which requires patients to pay high out-of-pocket costs to receive treatment. Individuals access to physical therapy is limited because of these outrageous co-pays. Decreased use of therapy services has the potential to lead to higher medical costs for health insurance companies in the long run. A bill lowering co-pays to a price comparable to the cost required for a primary care visit can not only improve access, but save money in the long run as well. Problem Statement: Co-pays for physical therapy services in New York state are very expensive, requiring patients to pay a great deal to receive therapy.
During the last six weeks, the world revolved around evidence-based physical therapy (EBPT). It materialized in a continuing education class on visceral manipulation of the urogenital system, on physical therapy Facebook pages, in craniosacral blogs as well as in the EBP1 class. A patient stated that recently she began promoting the use of evidence-based articles as a librarian.
Throughout the years physical therapy or PT as a career has grown exponentially. According to a study from George Fox University, it is predicted that the employment of physical therapists will grow approximately 34% between 2014 and 2024. Currently, PT is the third most sought after occupation in Idaho and the 6th most in demand medical related profession in the nation. Physical therapy is applicable to a wide variety of different injuries or problems with the body.
The fact that learning never stops, that you work and collaborate with some of the smartest minds around, and the uniqueness of each patient gets me very eager to enroll in a challenging DPT program with proven student success. I am very thankful for the experience I’ve had so far observing physical therapy and studying the sciences in my undergrad. I don’t think as many other careers are so open to allow students into their workspace and I look forward to one day being able to spark another young student’s interest in rehab therapy. Before my sophomore year in high school, there was little I knew about the physical therapy field but since then I have spent a great deal of time observing physical therapists and from all that I’ve learn I know that I want to become a physical
Location After doing some research I’ve learned, according to BLS, California is one of the best places for Physical Therapist, the compensation is one of the highest in the nation, and the number of Physical Therapists employed is #1, meaning they are well needed and kept there. And since this is my dream Job, and living in California has always been a dream of mine, you know the move is a definite go. After moving to California, and passing the CLE (California Law Examination), a test much like the NPTE, but only refers to the practice of Physical Therapy in California, I am now licensed in the beautiful state of California, and capable of putting my dreams into reality. Physical Therapy Physical Therapists provide rehabilitation for injuries and help maintain stability. “Some history of Physical Therapist formed their first professional association in 1921 called the American Women’s physical therapeutic association. In the late 1940s, the association had changed its name to the American Physical Therapy Association. Physical Therapy was developed when the association’s membership swelled to 8,000 and the number of physical therapy education programs across the US increased from 16 to 39”(“APTA History”). Although many people may think being a physical therapist is hard because of the qualifications needed, the daily work, salary, and needs of the service have drawn my attention to the field.
By 2026 physical therapy jobs are said to be increased by 25% (“10 Interesting Physical Therapy Facts & Statistics,” 28 Dec. 2017). Physical therapists are doctors that help people who have pain during movement or have lost some range of motion. They help those patients regain their abilities or manage their pain (Bellamy). This is a great career to go into. There are many aspects that go into being a physical therapist like degrees, advancement opportunities, day to day responsibilities, and much more.
