Have you ever seen any written documentations that record the complicated interchange of the conversation that only took place between Pablo Picasso and Georges Braque? Are you not curious the terminology that they use during their discussion as they explore further and further into a brand new direction of art at the time? After reading "The Shared Vision,"1 I was surprised to know more information from the aspect of the more reality side of the artist, that Picasso and Braque have very distinct personalities. In the section of "A Closeness of Opposites," says both Picasso and Braque is sharing the same obstacles in the development of the language of Cubism.2 And they contributed to one another exactly on what they both lacking from each other. …show more content…

Synthetic Cubism emerges into people's sight with brighter colors and simpler lines and shapes, compares to Analytic Cubism, Synthetic Cubism is focusing on building up the picture with collage and forms to further analyze the objects from its shape to structure. And with the addition of collages, cubists has a wider range of use of materials to create images from their imagination, which allows the work to be able to mimic the texture of difference surface, hence the name of 'synthetic.' The Sunblind [1914] by Juan Gris perfect demonstrates the characteristics of both simple shapes and collage as the definition, thought the color scheme are not in the range of considering to be bright. In the comparison of earlier piece Ma Jolie(with guitar), it is more vibrant regarding the palate. Originally title as La Jalousie, in the picture features a slight opened blind diagonally positioned from left to right across the canvas aligned with the table. And the light that illuminates through the blinds casts shadows on the objects on the table which leaves a mirror shadow on the table that resembled some sort of drinkware.
