I’m most proud of my two terms as ASB Director of Communications, the student spokesperson for the ASB and faculty. The job demands proficiency in graphic design, public speaking, and time management; responsibilities include creating posters, broadcasting PSAs, commentating class competitions, and sending weekly emails to an audience of 1600 students. I’ve led two ASB committees to coordinate our school’s Stanford Blood Drive and FairTrade Initiative. I’m also the go-to guy who answers all students’ general questions. How many times a week does an email from a complete stranger pop up in the inbox?
The Toronto Regent Park area is known for being a culturally diverse, yet highly impoverished and socio-economically divided are. The Regent Park revitalization project is a large opportunity for Toronto Community Housing to recreate the area to become a vibrant, mixed income community. The project will be support the infrastructure/economy as well. The addition of commercial areas will increase employment rates and possibly remove a percentage of the citizens from the poverty line.

When I first toured the NewsLink Indiana studio on the second floor of the Arts and Journalism building, I realized that this was the career path for me. I always enjoyed filming, editing and staying informed on current events via television news. My family always had the television tuned to Fox News or CNN. It just seemed like a great idea to me to go to New York City or Atlanta to internship at two of the biggest names in cable news. However, after researching information online and attending the 2016 Fall News Roundup, I realized that my best chance of gaining experience and possibly securing a job out of an internship would come from a smaller market (Hostetter, 2016).

Intro/Outline: Perception differs from reality, but reality never differs from perception. Humanity continuously falls victim to their own ignorance, succumbing to the trap of misconception and illusion. This notion can be seen in countless writings throughout history, such as Shakespeare's Macbeth, William Golding's Lord of the Flies, Plato's Allegory of the Cave, and Oscar Wilde's Picture of Dorian Gray. Each writing supports a notion of the truth of reality. Thesis:
After I graduate from Spelman I plan to get a job with Turner Sports through the NCAA Post Graduate Internship Multimedia program. This program will allow me to get hands on experience in the field I want to pursue and allow me to make connections that could further my career. My other option is to join the Cox Media Group Digital talent program. This program will also give me hands on experience and connect me with a job in the field of journalism.
A Midsummer Nights Dream “Love looks not with the eyes, but with the mind, and therefore is winged Cupid painted blind.” – William Shakespeare Shakespeare showed his message through comedy by saying that love can be diverse. By the play having different characters fall in love with the totally opposite people that they were meant to, the story can be quite humorous. Like when Demetrious fell in love with Helena after liking Hermia for so long and for hating Helena so much. Everybody had a plan in the story, they all knew who they wanted to marry, but it all changed and became quite humorous when all the sudden the plot of the story changed and Theseus and Hyppolita’s wedding day wasn’t the main story anymore.
By participating as an SIP intern, I hope to gain experience in the scientific field and to further my passion in science. When I am a working adult, I would be most happy spending my days in bioengineering. I highly enjoy delving into biology- I love the classes, reading its applications, and researching what the career is like. Thinking narrowly, participating as an SIP intern gives me a chance to spend my summer well.
