Final Paper Assignment Driving While Stupid, a Miami Herald column written by humorist Dave Barry, was written with the intent to make readers aware of the bad driving habits of today’s motorists. The Hero’s Journey of Texas History: Revolution and Republic In Texas History, there is nothing more well known than the Alamo and the Texas revolution. Almost everyone has heard the stories of Davy Crockett and his coonskin cap, or Jim Bowie and his famous Bowie knife. The Texas revolution was full of so many Texas legends and larger than life characters, so it only makes sense that the Hero’s Journey, a literary trope all about heroes overcoming obstacles, would apply to the riveting events of the Texas revolution. The start of the long journey that is the Texas revolution starts in the ordinary world, the first stage in the Hero’s Journey.

Texas Economy Through Time Texas economy throughout the ages has become quite famous for its ever changing status. When Texas was just a young state it did not have the economy that the other states at the time possessed but it did have potential which was picked up on starting out with the livestock and cattle industry. Texas went through a rapid expansion and quickly caught up with its statehood brethren. As time carried on so did the cattle industry of Texas. Soon farming and production of cotton sparked another economic shift for Texas, which caused demand to spike as other states could not keep up with the ability Texas had to produce its cotton.
