What is the best way to summarize Plato’s The Allegory of the Cave? The famous theoretical physicist, Stephen Hawking, best described the summary when he said that “The greatest enemy of knowledge is not ignorance, is it the illusion of knowledge”. Of course, he was not describing The Allegory of the Cave but simply, that is a one line accurate description of the summary. Was that enough for one to actually understand The Allegory of the Cave?
