Poffel Case: Muskogee Police Report

On August 3rd, 2015 at approximately 9:00am I, Investigator James Poffel was assigned a case in reference a bio-logical father allegedly raping his son at 401 Honor Hieghts Dr in Muskogee, OK. The suspect is Jewell Daniels and the victim is his son Samuel Daniels. The reporting party is Helena Daniels, the victim’s biological mother.

On July 31st, 2015 at approximately 1:59pm Officer Galin Shultz was dispatched to the front desk of the Muskogee Police Department to make contact with Ms. Daniels to take the original police report. Officer Shultz took the initial information for the report. While taking the police report, Ms. Daniels made mention she has previously filed a police report for similar allegations against Mr. Daniels. Officer …show more content…

I asked Officer Shultz what the allegations where this time and what new information he received. Officer Shultz stated Ms. Daniels is alleging Samuel told his dad sexually assaulted him by tasing him and raping him. After raping Samuel he threatened him that if he told anyone, he would get it worse. Some of the information being disclosed was new and parts were in reference to the first investigation. Furthermore, Ms. Daniels disclosed Samuel was also tied up, raped and tased in North Carolina, when his dad came to get him and again in Dallas, TX, when he took a trip with his dad. Ms. Daniels has filed police reports in all three states. Ms. Daniels is concerned because a judge in North Carolina gave Mr. Daniels custody of Samuel and now she is unsure of what abuse Samuel has to suffer while in Mr. Daniels …show more content…

DHS stated, based on the information received they were able to substantiate their findings against Mr. Daniels for sexual abuse, however, their police department and district attorney felt as if they could not get there with criminal charges against Mr. Daniels. A judge in Mecklenberg County awarded Mr. Daniels custody in Mr. and Ms. Daniels custody hearing. DHS sent me the sexual assault examination report from Samuel’s well-child check.
