Seeing May Be Believing Every day misconduct occurs between police officers and citizens all over the United States. Michael Brown, an unarmed eighteen-year-old, was shot to death in Ferguson, Missouri, by a police officer. Eric Garner, a forty-three-year-old from New York, dies from a police chokehold. Twenty-two-year-old John Crawford III was shot and killed by a police officer in a Walmart outside of Dayton, Ohio. Believe it or not, none of these deaths were filmed, and little evidence was provided. Police Body Cameras would not only provide pure evidence in the courtroom, but also prevent future violence from occurring. Many citizens would say that no eyewitness would come forward if they know they are being filmed fearing public exposure. Over a period of twelve months, police officers were randomly selective and assigned to wear high definition police body cameras. The all nominally defined use of force, both necessary and unnecessary. It was found that during the twelve months, the number of complaints filed against police officers dropped to point seven percent per one thousand police officers from the initial sixty-point six percent (Ariel, Barak 2018). Not only did complaints drop, but the unsolved cases also dropped. With security police body cameras capturing every incident at every point and time, the amount of unsolved court cases would go down. With the cameras catching every move of everybody, court cases will be much easier and faster to solve. In the court room, a video or film that had captured an incident between police officers and citizens or between citizens and citizens is pure gold due to the fact that the video does not lie and captured the full …show more content…

Many people are having rallies held for because of shooting between the officer and the citizen. Most of the rallies are held because a white police officer shot an African-American. The police officer says he was only trying to protect himself. With security police body cameras, this problem would be resolved. But, not all things that the security police body cameras are supposed to be horrific and bad things needed to prove someone guilty in the courtroom. Every day, police officers put their own life on the line, just by putting on a badge. Many people become angry with police officers because they did something that they did not like, but police officers are not the bad guys. Police body cameras would also catch situations where children need help walking across the road on their way to school, or helping the elderly tote their groceries to their cars. You see, all these incidents would be captured, good and bad, its just that not everyone wants to come to this
