Police Budgetary strategies
In the US, police departments create the original participants in matters pertaining municipal budgeting as accorded by the Department of Commerce affirming that 20.9 billion dollars were spent between 1991 and 1992 by the departments ("Home," n.d.). There exists competition between the budgeting agencies because of the limited resources present in the departmental settings although, the departments are advantaged because of the public safety. The federal agencies, therefore, form a fixed relationship between their overseeing agencies, legislative committee, and close allied groups (In Rubin, 2015). The article does not provide examples of the interest groups but goes ahead stating the importance of the purported groups. The aim of creating a relationship with the local people interested in solving problems in the community is a key factor during budgeting because they have information on day to day happening in their neighborhoods. By doing so, it will be easier to have evidence-based information allowing the department to issues funds when combating certain crimes. Goals and objectives create the primary reason behind strategic planning when managing the budget provided by the police department (Robinson, 2012). The articles explain the long-range strategic plan allowing the participants in making decisions to develop annual operating budget but don't give the estimates that should be included during planning. I, therefore, propose for strategic thought during budget making by focusing on the set target by the community department so that in case they are not achieved, further planning will be needed to promote performance. Proper planning will further leave no room for political opponents taking advantage of faults in performance, and the aim is therefore not hiding budget performance but planning for the best outcomes in my
