In the textbook, the book goes on to list police crime, occupational deviance, police corruption, and abuse of authority as the four kinds of typologies of police deviance (Schmalleger & Worrall, 2009). Starting with police crime, the term simply means when an officer uses their official powers and uses them in illegal means.
