Beelzebub is the “Seventh Prince of Hell”, and also known as the “Lord of Flies”. William Golding wrote “Lord of the Flies” in 1962. “Lord of the Flies” is a story where a group of school boys are on an island alone. They have to survive without any adults to guide them. In the book Golding uses three types of allegory Political, Social, and Religious. Allegory means a story, poem, or picture that has a hidden message. Political allegory is affecting the economy. The island is like the earth before evil entered. In the Bible there was a garden called the “Garden of Eden”. It was Adam and Eve’s job to look after the garden, but one day Eve was tempted by the devil to sin and she ate the “Forbidden Fruit”. She let sin enter the world. The parachutist that fell out of the sky represents the fall of mankind. The beast is the temptation that many people suffer standing up to. Jack could represent Judas, who in the Bible betrayed Jesus. Jack could also represent the Devil who is all evil. Jack and Ralph are a lot like Cain and Abel. Cain murdered his brother because of that he got a mark on his arm so that no one could kill him. The boy with the mulberry birthmark was murdered at the first signal fire due to the other boys neglect. Simon is a god like figure. Simon took care of the littluns and Piggy, he is tempted, confronts evil, frees the parachuter from death, and he suffers. In the paper you have read three different types of allegory.
