The Mad Scramble for Africa, as source three is titled, is a political cartoon showing different European countries, for example France, Spain, and Italy, pulling at and reaching for different parts of Africa. This a literal visual of what happened during the Scramble for Africa, also known as the Conquest of Africa, which was during the New Imperialism age. More so, this was where Africa was divided by colonization of different European powers. In 1884, the Berlin Conference formalized and regulated European colonization of Africa.
