Popol Vuh and Genesis have many differences, but they also have many similarities. These stories actually have a great deal in common you just have to know how to pick them out of the story. An example of this shows when God wants Adam and Eve to obey him and live in the garden of Eden and the Gods from Popol Vuh want the humans to obey them. Genesis talks about God and Popol Vuh talks about a bunch of Gods and their similar because they both get disobeyed and have to resolve those problems that they face. The story of Genesis talks about the story of Adam and Eve. Mostly everyone knows this story, but no one ever thought that this story had anything in common with another story, especially Popol Vuh. The first invention they tried contained animals. They gave the animals a place to live and food to eat, but the animals never prayed to the Gods so the Gods killed the animals. The Gods then tried to make a human out of mud, but it just disintegrated and they watched it happen. They also tried to make them out of wood, but that did not work either. By the fourth invention they actually understood how to make the humans somewhat right. The Gods did not like them though because they seemed too perfect and they did not need the Gods for anything. The Gods did not like this, so they burned them. By their last try they finally succeeded by making them out of corn. They worshipped the Gods and the Gods loved it. A similarity between this story and Genesis shows that the humans disobeyed the Gods. Just like the story of Genesis when Adam and Eve ate the apple from the tree when God told them not to and their similar because this story the humans would not listen to the Gods and worship
