The Mongolian Empire’s Positive Consequences
One of the most brutal empires in history is the Mongolian Empire (Ruzzerion). Killing over ten percent of earth's human population. However, some of their actions were positive. The mongolian conquest resulted in many people dying and other negative outcomes, except there were even more positive outcomes to this empire.
The positive outcomes of the Mongolian empire are still affecting us today, and greatly affected them when they were alive. Things they did in their time helped us today with trade, protection, food marketing and even healthcare. Many were killed to reach their goal, but this has brought many people together and has made it possible for people to thrive on earth today. Starting off, the Mongols liked a healthy army, they mainly focused on medicine and opened many hospitals around Europe to support their armies (Szczepanski). This allowed the spread of medical technology and medicine for the people. The Mongols introduced gunpowder to the world, this made the war tactics very more diverse (Szczepanski). This helps the modern day world fight in wars and serve a way for people to protect themselves. Russia was unified by the Mongols and later Russia defeated the Mongols after many years (Szczepanski). They came together to go against the Mongols but this helped Russia have a strong unified army and government. There are many great positive effects from the Mongolian Empire, and there are many more positives than negatives. They greatly influenced our social economics and social powers. Though there are negatives, the mongolian empire did end in a more positive way and outcome. Firstly, the Mongolians were the ones responsible for the plague, which killed almost two hundred million people. This wiped out 10% of earth's population, and this did not give a good reputation for the mongolians. Secondly, they left mass destruction and death to the cities they conquered, as a consequence this also killed millions of people. This caused people to protest against them and ended in the protesters getting executed. However, the positives outway the negatives because if those millions of people wouldn’t have died, the world would be overpopulated and earth’s technology would be overused. However, most of their mistakes have greatly affected us in today's modern world positively. Their thirst for knowledge was so big, so they encouraged teachers to teach many subjects, even religion. This helped the spread of education and church. The opening of the silk road introduced the spread of science technology. When they conquered Greece they were able to take their technology and spread throughout their kingdom. As stated before, the Mongols have helped our daily lives through technology.
