Post World War II and entering the Cold War there was a lot of arguing about equality toward race, gender, and rights in the United States. World War II gave America an economic boom. Also, the federal government always had a stance and power over the society of America. They created laws based on the people in the federal government and their opinions. Which led to a court case known as Plessy V. Fergusson. This was a court case trying to put an end to segregation. A significant event that happened right before 1960 to start developing a new idea of conservatism was the Little Rock Nine, but there was a group of people who pushed back and did not like this. It was more controlled by the liberals. They wanted to rely on the government and their opinions rather than having people decide what is best. For instance, Roe v. Ms. Holt believed women were given too much freedom and losing the belief of traditional values within genders. The feminists were taking their rights and beliefs far beyond what others wanted. Another example is in document four, Jerry Falwell was concerned about how younger people are losing their moral and civil values, especially within the Christian
