Again, I was able to do an observation other Pre-K class on two different days. I observed a second Pre –K class. The teachers were Ms. Tracy and Ms. Megan. Both are extremely qualified teacher with Master Degree in Early Childhood. I observed the environment and the interaction of the teachers and their students. Although, both classes used the same structure routines as well as the curriculum provides by Goddard, there were some similarities and some differences. The first reflection of the classroom environment was the demographics. In Ms. Tracy and Ms. Regan, Pre –K class, I learned that, 35% special education, 70% White, 30% black, the demographics of the Pre- K environment is different from the demographics of the other class because there are more student categorized by race, gender and more special needs. Includes motor skill development, affected and creative free play, math and language, literature and science. A focused focus is placed on communication skills and problem solving techniques. Student are given the tool and encouraged to communicate with each other when resolving issues. During my reflection at the Goddard, I saw similarities compared with the other preschool class. The age of children in this room was ages 4-5 year old. The classroom was entailed with the same standard information. As I witnesses, the various ways the Pre-K teachers interacted and what really impress me was the interaction during class projects.
. I had picked a great day because I was able to sit in on a class project. The science class project was a kitchen science experiments. Ms. Tracey explains she love doing science experiment because they are just fun and easy because the materials are easy to obtain. Also, the student are able to use their own philosophy skills.
