About 18 years ago my mom found out she was 8 weeks pregnant. According to the book this meant ,I would have been in my fetal stage by the time my mom found out. She was a single mother with another baby on the way. She says although the pregnancy was a surprise to her she was more than happy to bring another child into this world. She remembers her pregnancy being “smooth and fast.” She rarely had any symptoms and generally loved the pregnant life. By the time she was checked into the hospital she was already on mid stage 1 of labor , with her cervix about 5cm wide. She was in labor for only four hours , and according to her “ They were the hours of hell.” She wanted to keep my birthing as natural as she could so she rejected the offer of Epidural. This meant she needed to toughen up and deal with her contractions. By the time her cervix was 9 cm wide the nurses began preparing her to give birth. Her house consisted of my uncle, they’re 3 children , my two year old brother, and my mom and I. Life there was always helpful but overwhelming because there was to many people living in one house. So my mom decided to move back in with my grandparents. There is where my mom decided to watch me for only one more month and then off she was to find a job. My Grandma watched me until I was two and after daycare when I was older. She spoke Spanish and hardly any English, so I was very much accustomed to the Spanish language. My grandma was a very warming person and had no trouble of spoiling me. The environment there was always welcoming and allowed me to express parts of my latin heritage. After two years passed by I was off to daycare for 2 years.
