The 38th Street Gang, Henry Reyna The Zoot Suit by Luis Valdez is a magnificent book. The characters are excellent and the play is just great. Shows hard times during World War 2 of gangs at war and people suffering from hope. Henry Reyna being one of the most important characters in this book shows a lot of his feelings and the problems he’s going through, affecting various people in some situations, he’s very close with his friends, but falls apart with his family as he’s always getting in trouble, such a depressing time for him and is treated very unfairly.

Paul Fisher is the protagonist of the book Tangerine by Edward Bloor. But his character changes throughout the book. Different events occur that change him, like when he found out the truth about how he actually became blind. At the beginning of the story, Paul was insecure and weak, but after overcoming many obstacles, he is strong and confident.
The friend of mine I will be presenting today is Devon Gatanis. She’s fifthteen years old. She has a family of four consisting of her Mom named Patty who’s 48 years old. She also has a father named Rich who’s 52 years old and a sister named Tori who’s 19. Lastly, she has a dog named Koty who’s nine years old.

On top of that he has to withstand his dissolute brother, Erik Fisher, the antagonist at home. He also needs to endure the favoritism portrayed by his father towards Erik and his football dream. In this novel we find out how Paul Fisher last living in this irregular neighborhood.
In the book tangerine the main character paul is affected by the choices he makes, as well as the choices the people around him make. Paul has just moved to tangerine florida, now he has to start a whole new school with lots of new people. Since moving to lake windsor downs paul has started to uncover secrets that have been kept from him for quite some time. How did the choices of the characters in tangerine effect paul as the main character in the book? Why are these choices so important?
In one’s self, two natures are at war- the good and the evil, and one of these must be conquered. But in one’s own hands lies the power to choose- what one wants most to be is what we are. Sadly, in Tangerine by Edward Bloor, Erik chooses to be evil, and he makes cruel choices that negatively affect Paul’s life, and that will change Paul forever. One way Erik diminishes Paul is when he almost fully blinds him. This event traumatizes Paul, so much that his brain suppressed the memory of that occurrence.

Erick’s choices not only affect his life they also affect his family's life, especially his brother Paul's. Erik's choice to hit Tino, tell Arthur to hit Luis,and his choice to spray spray-paint in Paul's eyes all significantly affect Paul.
