Part A:
The ABC model of attitudes is composed of 3 components. The first component is called, Affective Component. This component refers to how a person feels towards an object. This attitude has branches created from an emotion. An example would be issues around politics, sex and religion because the person is feeling their emotions based on their value system and moral belief. The second component is called Behavior Component. This component reflects how we behave when exposed to an item or object. The person reflects on his/her own actions either previously done or present and uses that to react to a situation. The third and final part of an attitude is called the Cognitive Component. This behavior is strictly based on facts instead of emotions or observations of your behavior. The attitudes of the ABC model are used in every choice that we make. They are not used equally in

In the beginning of the story, Elizabeth overhears Mr. Darcy refer to her as tolerable and immediately dislikes him. From the ABC Model of Attitudes, the affective behavior displayed is high emotions a feeling hurt. The behavioral reaction is that she calls him out on the insult. The cognitive behavior is the fact that she literally heard him say those words about her. This is the beginning of her behavior towards Mr. Darcy which will last through half of the book. Mr. Darcy eventually proposes to Elizabeth and she highly rejects his offer. She recites all the horrible things she has heard him say to make her immensely dislike him. He was sorry for his mistakes and Elizabeth finally realizes he really loves. The affective behavior is Elizabeth gets very emotional and angry. The behavioral reaction is she calls him out for all his wrongs and the cognitive behavior is finding out he is truly sorry for his mistakes and seeing for the first time that he really loves
