Origin – The photographers that took this photo of George Derome were the people that took photos of everyone that was going to war that worked for lt warwick brooke. This primary photo was made in the 1920’s when the war was over. The people that took photographs took them at the time of the war but it was made after the war had been over for two years. This photo was taken at Cumberland, Sydney Australia. It depicts the face of Geroge Derome and presents how he looked to identify him at war.

Purpose- The photographs that were taken of Derome was to recognise how he looked in WWI. In WWI, photographs were taken so all soldier can be identified. The function of this source is trying to show the face of George …show more content…

It shows that the time of war was horrible for the soldiers. The 3D source shows how the mud used to get soggy after rain and very heavy to move in. The purpose for this source is also to portray the amount of strength put I by the soldiers. Another purpose that this secondary source of a trench shows how the environment used to be. (dirty, germ-infested trenches)

Value- This source is valuable to the tours to show how the war used to be and can be used to explain how tough the style of trench warfare used to be to live in. The artist that designed and made this source created the environment to be all smoky from the gasses. The source gives value to the tours that are interested in knowing how a trench looked like.

Limitation- This source it biased to one side as it is conveying how the Australians served at war and is not presenting how the environment and lifestyle was for the enemies. The source wants the audience to feel empathy for the harsh time the Australians went through. This also limits the details of the trenches for example how the storages that the soldiers would store their stuff (clothes, water, food) used to look and how the soldiers used to see at night without any …show more content…

This source is also trying to convey the positions that the artillery used to face and how the formation of the soldiers used to be. This secondary source is also trying to show or is showing puddles of water with means that the weather conditions that the soldiers used to face were harsh, especially when it was raining and cold where the ground would become heavy from the mud. Yogi has used the annotations to explain the parts of a trench in
