Americans today are indecisive over national security and governmental power. People are complacent with the decision whether to favor their personal privacy or national security. Privacy is the condition of being free from being observed or disturbed by other people. National security is the concern by a military or defense advantage over any nation or group of nations. People’s privacy should be a concern because they should know their rights if anything out of the ordinary happens unexpectedly. National security should be mentioned to the people so they can become aware of what could take place if national security is the option in case of another world’s crisis. Privacy is such an entity of people because when it comes down to it, they are willing to do their utmost best in protecting their secrecy by all means. By them giving their privacy up, people are basically looking at not having anything to focus their attention on to escape their thoughts of national security. For the people who are taking and leading towards the national security approach, they are surrendering their life and well-being to the government and sneaky military officials to protect them from harm’s way which is not be the best thing to do. If a person thinks about it, they are placing their lives in the hands of the government. Whether they realize it or not, the government is going to do all in their power to keep the people’s privacy under governmental control. For example, they can simply tap into a person’s phone and track that individual’s exact location. If privacy is the majority’s choice, they still have some worrying to do and try to prevent it from being invaded; however, they are not going to be under as much pressure and influence as compared to the people who favor national security.
