An abortion is the act of the terminating a pregnancy deliberately. This is the suspension of a fetus before it’s possible to survive on its own. This often happens before 24 weeks of the pregnancy (Brown, 2013). Abortions is a sensitive topic to some, and it rises a tense argument in some debates. Pro-life and Pro-choice arguments both have their valid arguments. The Pro-life argument is the belief of a fetus being an actual human being and should have the right to live their life. Pro-choice brings up that the mother of the child is in all control of what she decides to do with her child because it is in her body. Ohio requires the doctor to partake in a viability test (Ohio Abortion Laws). Minors are required to have a parental consent before the abortion process has begun (Ohio Abortion Laws). As long as the mother gets to it quick it is possible for her to take care of what she needs to get done. This is a fair law, it gives the mother a chance to do what she needs to. She has to get it done fast, and that will work in her favor. If she gets it done before the 20 weeks are up, it’s almost certain that she won’t experience as much as someone would if the abortion process was to happen at a later time in their pregnancy. More than half the Americans believe that abortions should be legal (Saletan, 2014). Abortions can effect women mentally and physically. This can cause them to regret their decisions, depression, suicidal thoughts, and so much more. Abortions cause also cause persistent bleeding, and a chance to damage the cervix. There’s also a slim chance that it can affect organs in the women body (American Pregnancy Association, 2016). This could be an argument to why abortions shouldn’t be allowed because of the pain the mother will or can experience. There’s also a chance for the mother to die during this
