The Process of my Athletic Journey
Reaching collegiate level baseball has always been a lifelong dream of mine. Although it is a very long, time consuming, and a process of making hard decisions, there are a few steps that can make it easier. The journey will be different for every athlete therefore athletes can not follow a guide telling them step by step what to do. The process of getting a coach's attention may be difficult but with determination it can be very rewarding.

These events are specifically designed for high school baseball players to showcase their talents in front of college coaches and scouts. It is important to do your research and attend events where the coaches and scouts from the schools you are interested in will be in attendance. When attending a showcase it is crucial for athletes to be able to play to the level that college scouts want to see. It is very easy for scouts to cross players off and move to the next therefore the players need to be prepared and honest with themselves regarding their skills. They can do this by being in the weight room and putting work into perfecting their craft spending numerous hours in the batting cage. It is crucial for athletes to push themselves in the weight room, getting bigger, stronger, and faster. Developing skills to be able to perfect athletic movements are a staple for great athletes.
Looking back at my journey it has taught me so much. It has taught me to push myself, this includes pushing myself everyday to get better in the weight room and in practice. It has taught me to be honest with myself knowing when I am wrong or not doing what I need to be doing as well as evaluating myself. It has taught me to communicate and build relationships. Communicating with college coaches can be scary and daunting at first but once the ball is rolling and a relationship is developed it becomes just an everyday
