Dealing with and being included in the media is part of a professional athlete 's job. Social media, television, radio, music, newspapers, and magazines are all sources that people can get information about professional athletes that those athletes need to be aware and careful about how they want their image portrayed. These athletes could potentially get in trouble for being in the media too much, but also they have to be in the media the right amount so they can get a fan base and sponsors. Athletes are not going to get a good fan base off of strictly playing, people want to like people who are nice, they want to like the people that they want to be like. The athletes are needed to be in the media so that they can try to get a good reputation, but they cannot be in the media too much because not all media is good. The more media the athlete is in, the more likely there is going to be something bad about them in at least one of the media sources. Professional athletes can be helped or hindered by being in any form of media. The athletes are required to have some form of media during their professional career, but not so much that they are getting a bad reputation. These men and women have a lot of pressure placed on them because of the media and they are expected to be perfect at all times, they are not seen as regular people, they are seen as role models and a goal for some people.
