So upon entering this program I have three goals that I hope to accomplish through this program. First is to be able to help patients and providers in the clinical setting, not just be an observer. I feel there is great responsibility in being a Pathmaker intern, that entails being actively engaged and eager to learn. In achieving this I plan to be attentive in each thing I experience hands on and observe, while always ready for the task at hand. Second, is to take my experiences I have as a patient and couple them with the internship to further develop my understanding of the various skills such as patience and communication that is necessary for providing care.
I wish not to base my level of successfulness on the amount of money I earn or receive, but on the amount of heart I give to others and my work. Over the next thirty years my success will be reflected by a number of significant milestones that will lead me into a career in the music industry. The hard work and values my Ghanaian immigrant parents instilled in me has led to my academic success as I was constantly reminded of the value of education. Pushed to do better everyday, my parents were successfully able to build up a strong work ethic in me.
Furthermore, this experience will provide an honorable opportunity to give back to my country and the medical community from the knowledge and skills that I have gained and apply it throughout my medical career. It will also allow me to mentor and educate others who are interested in this field. As I am a firm believer of sharing knowledge and expertise to help others grow, since I have been fortunate to have mentors and advisors of my own who have guided throughout my medical
Within my background and my past and future life experiences, I bring resilience, determination, and hard work into the GCSU student body. Having a challenging background has taught me to value hard work and the need for a great work ethic. This has molded me into a compassionate and hard-working individual, which has led me to be ready to support and uplift my peers. On top of that, my leadership skills have been fulfilled through various experiences, including leading teams and through school activities. All while doing this, it has shown that I think outside of the box very well, which shows that I excel in collaborative environments.
I have worked with HR staffing policies and reconciliation during my time at Rockwell Collins. I am currently the lead contact on HR staffing updates for the organization's Engineering Program Management group. I update the staffing headcount for each cost center group in the department, and work with Program Managers to answer ad hoc inquiries on their weekly staffing updates. Although my experience with HR regulations is limited, I am eager to learn and hope to put my education in managerial concepts to use in this role. I have held various leadership positions during my time at Iowa State University.
The program gives students like me the opportunity to become a hero, a health care professional, later on in life. By knowing the rules and techniques in the hospital, helping out the members of the community, and maintaining a professional attitude as a health care member; I successfully became a member of the healthcare discourse community. James Bowie High School offered Health Care Rotation, a program for students who wanted to become healthcare professionals. During the spring of my junior year, I applied to the Health Care Rotational program through an application and interview process. After a stressful interview, I got
Professionalism for me is the set of values, qualities that every professional should have. Trust, responsibility and integrity applies to all professions but for medical professionals besides Integrity, trust and responsibility other ingredients matters such as compassion, altruism, continuous improvement, excellence and working in partnership with members of the wider healthcare team . Professional qualities are not automatically inherited upon qualifying. As medicine is a profession, such thinking follows that all doctors are automatically professionals.
Professionalism, to me, means always conducting oneself in a manner that is respectful, responsible, and competent. It is about consistently displaying integrity, ethical behavior, and a strong work ethic in all interactions and tasks. Professionalism also involves maintaining a positive attitude, being punctual and reliable, and taking pride in one's work. It is essential to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to always strive for excellence in performance. Furthermore, professionalism extends beyond just one's individual actions and behaviors; it also involves treating others with courtesy and respect.
My first comprehensive exposure to the health care field was six years ago as a senior, during which time I participated in hospital-based schooling. This program allowed me to observe a multitude of different medical disciplines, with rotations in surgery, orthopedics, nutrition, dermatology, gastroenterology, neurology, administrative services, and many more. Three out of the five school days were dedicated solely to shadowing, and the other two were spent in the classroom learning various medical-centric studies. Once in college, I continued to shadow physicians whenever my class scheduled permitted. I participated in the 4-U Mentorship program, which paired me with a fourth-year medical student who was preparing to do his residency in general

My outstanding work ethic has earned me numerous promotions and my ability to build relationships with people has been tremendous asset to my current employer. Being consistently one of the best employers to work for in Canada, it has become my goal to be a part of your organization.
Professionalism: What Does it Mean to Me? Professionalism has a different meaning for everyone; however, each definition of the word is not much different from one another. For me, professionalism is just another word for above average, or exceptional. I don’t always think of a professional as a white collar worker, such as a doctor or a business owner; they could be a tattoo artist or a chef.
Earning a degree in counseling will allow me to pursue my goals, with my primary long-term goal being the ability to open my own private practice. However, I have a multitude of goals along the way, such as working with adolescents and young adults in any number of settings. Once I enter the professional world, I primarily want to work with that aforementioned age group, as well as those in the LGBT+ community, and those who fall into both. However, I would not gate myself off to these specific groups, as the opportunity to work with a plethora of people is one I would be grateful for. The privilege of being able to work with and counsel those who need it, to whichever degree they may, is one I’ve been aiming to earn for years.
I was born into an environment full of hard workers and people who are dedicated to what they are doing. My family is made up of people who always made sure they got their job done and put their 100% effort into that job. Everyone makes sure they are satisfied with the results of their work and if they are not, they do it again until they are satisfied. My family raised me to be a hard working and giving person and I apply these virtues to my everyday life. I grew up watching my family working hard at whatever they do and I took it upon myself to make sure I do the same and make them proud of my work.
It is important to know your strengths and weaknesses when becoming a professional in any career, the three areas that I believe are my strengths that are listed in the readings are my effective social skills, technology, and attendance. Regarding to effective social skills, the book contains many questions, which allows you to think "am I really effective in this category?". When it comes to professionalism and social skills I know how to act and what to say when it comes to working with students and potentially parents inside of a classroom. Before even entering this major I have been working at a summer camp back home, and one thing that we are required to do is work on our social skills with not only the kids, but with their parents. We are required to say the right things around the students meaning speaking in an academic language and ultimately think before you speak.
