1.0 - Introduction:
Over 400,000 Australians participate in Aerobics on a weekly basis with many partaking daily (ABS, 2012). Aerobics was a prominent element in helping me to become physically educated through components such as fitness and fitness components, the FITT principle, training programs, the effects of peers, continuous exercise and intrinsic motivation. Some recommendations that I believe should be implemented to enhance participation for future students at the school would include; enhancing awareness of the sport in earlier grades and having more facilities and resources available.

2.0 - Context
Professor peter Figueroa created the frameworks that investigate the issue in regard to equality and equity within sport (Waehner, 2014). The Framework is constructed over five autonomous levels (Waehner, 2014). The institutional level is the third level of Figueroa’s framework and examines the institutions within society that affect sport (Waehner, 2013).

Firstly, aerobics is seen as a feminine sport with females being the targeted audience. Due to aerobics being a feminine sport, it is obvious that some males refuse to participate due to the stereotypes that surround the sport. After participating in aerobics I started to become more aware of the stereotypes however also realized how wrong they were during participation. If men perform a feminine sport then they to are seen as feminine and feminine men are seen as gay. After partaking I became further educated as this was because it did not involve contact and thus not viewed as masculine even though all fitness components are needed to excel. Therefore due to this perception surrounding the sport, men were not willing to participate and thus was the reason why I saw mostly males sitting in comparison to
