Youth are prepared to live, learn, work, and contribute fits perfectly with opening a call center, because it will allow for the student’s to feel safe within the school, and improve their learning experiences. The strategy that will be used is community schools, because through Promise Zone there will be a LBGTQIA+ call center opening which will offer needed support to students during and after school hours. Promise Zone is completely based around forming a community school model; this model will be utilized in the creation of the LBGTQIA+ call center. The number of calls and returns to school the next day will be the measurements for success on this project. According to the 2015 School Climate survey, by offering supports within the school, decreased the amount of harassment within the school system, by opening the call center this will continue to improve the learning environment for the LGBTQIA+ students. The questions that need to be answered are, what is the student’s name, grade level, birthday, what they identify as, where they live, where they are at that moment of the call, and the issue they are calling about. These questions will be logged and put into a Google Doc that the principal, Promise Zone, and all of the volunteers will have access to. The Google Doc will also contain if the student attended school the day following the call, this information will be gained through the use of PowerSchool, which all members involved will have access to. Each time a student calls they will be recorded in the Google Doc and that will be utilized to monitor the attendance and grades of the students using the hotline.
