In the play The Tragedy of Macbeth written by William Shakespeare a character Macbeth was told he was going to be king and he did everything in his power to make it happen. Macbeth tries to control the future by listening to lady macbeth and takes matters into his own hands to become king he did unspeakable things to make sure his prophecy came true. Macbeth allowed Lady Macbeth to convince him to not wait around to be king and take action to make certain that he will become king. Three witches told Macbeth that he would soon become king and when lady Macbeth heard she knew she would become queen so she became adamant on it happening she couldn't wait for the prophecy so she fed Macbeth terrible ideas for the prophecy to come true sooner than
While the witches are making their predictions about both Macbeth and Banquo, the prophecies made foreshadow many upcoming events about to occur. I do not personally believe that directly telling that something will happen, such as Macbeth becoming king, is foreshadowing, however, that combined with the predictions made about Banquo do create foreshadowing. While it is said that Macbeth will become king, it is also said that Banquo's children will become kings, and these two events contradict each other. Since it is established that Macbeth is a ruthless soldier on the battlefield, it can be assumed that he will fight for what he wants, thus foreshadowing that Macbeth may in fact kill Banquo in order to prevent Banquo's children from gaining
At Macbeth's home, the castle of Inverness, Lady Macbeth reads a letter from her husband concerning his meeting with the Witches. She is immediately aware of the significance of their prophetic words and, on being informed that King Duncan will be paying a royal visit to Inverness, makes up her mind to carry out the murder of the king in order to hasten the prophecy. In doing so, she suggests that her husband is weak — he contains too much of "the milk of human kindness. " When Macbeth arrives from the court of Duncan, bearing news of the king's forthcoming visit, his wife makes her plans clear to him.

We see how Macbeth tries to control the future and bury the past many times in the play “Macbeth”. He would listen to and be influenced by his wife. He would lie to others.

In the text Foreshadowing is used to give subtle hints about the rest of the text, This can send the reader in the right or wrong direction. Just like diction Foreshadowing is influential to the authors purpose and how he wants the readers to interpert his or her intention of the story. This situation is similar to the scene in Macbeth; however, Macbeth receives a pleasuring prophecy, whereas I was warned of danger. In Act 1 Scene 3, Macbeth and his shoulder-companion, Banquo receive three predictions from three evil witches. The enchantresses first prophesize that Macbeth will be named “Thane of Glamis”(1.3.48), which is peculiar because he is already the Thane of Glamis. The witches are aware of this, but they open with it anyway to make Macbeth believe in their ability to accurately predict the future. They then tell him that he will be “Thane of Cawdor” and that he “shalt be king hereafter”(1.3.50).
The prophecies was a big event that took place and activated Macbeth’s ambition. When the witches met on the heath at sunset they knew that Macbeth and Banquo were coming back from battle. The witches appeared in front of them without any warning. The witches conversed with Macbeth and Banquo. Whenever Macbeth heard he was going to become thane of Cawdor he was thrilled, and that was when ambition set in.
She perceives an opportunity to take advantage of this knowledge right away and starts to deceive Macbeth into thinking he must kill King Duncan to succeed him as king. The process of this plan was for Macbeth and his wife, Lady Macbeth to drug everyone, then for Macbeth to go and kill King Duncan. When The deed was done there was regret and guilt behind it. Macbeth's reaction and response were ruthless, his desire to maintain his position as king entwined with his paranoia. Lady Macbeth does all this because of her greed and power she is informed that she can control Macbeth.

In the play Macbeth, the lead role “Macbeth” was given a prophecy. Part of the prophecy stated that Macbeth would be king. Macbeth made decisions to make the prophecies come true, rather than believing that his actions were predetermined. Shakespeare, the author of Macbeth, probably believed that fate is never predetermined. I believe Macbeth’s actions were the cause of his own decisions, and that he did what he could to make his prophecies come true.
In Shakespeare’s Macbeth the witches informs Macbeth of his fate that he will become the king in the future. Macbeth believes the witches words and Lady Macbeth persuade him to become the king and murder all the people that get in the way. Shakespeare shows us that fate is complicated by our actions, Macbeth will do anything to meet his fate that in the end lead him to his death because of his greediness.
Lady Macbeth is power hungry for the throne and she will do anything to achieve her goal. Her pleasure of having the thought of killing Duncan is revealed. These murderous thoughts that run through her mind shows how desperate she is to acquire power. Although it is the beginning of the play, her dark ambitions sets a dark tone for her character in the play. This coincidentally adds to the assurance of Macbeth’s prophecy which is that Macbeth will become king, but King Duncan is still alive.
