In advising the Chief Justice, it is obvious that the voting districts should be redrawn for a multitude of reasons. As the system of drawing districts stands, it is highly vulnerable to corruption for the party in power, as they are the ones deciding the districts. Concurrently, those in power are incentivized to maintain their power through any means necessary; which, in a democracy, is obtaining the most votes. Because it is extremely difficult determining whether or not the drawing of a district is preferential to one party over another is, the risk to those in power is minimal while the potential payout is high. Thus, short of any moral reasoning to stop them, the likelihood of someone gaming the design of voting districts is high.
Once the House of Representatives passes the charge, it then goes to the Senate, where it takes after the same procedure of updates. The senate president allots the bill to a board of trustees, where it experiences the same three readings that it experienced in the House of Representatives. At the end of the day, the bill must get most of the houses vote to be passed. The bill must be gone in indistinguishable structure from both houses with the goal it should be gone on to the president.

Without a large republic not only are you going to have the tyranny of the majority, but you are not going to have a unified country. If we become factionalized to the point where every person represents their own views we are going to be headed towards civil war quickly, and we are going to break up as a nation. By having a large republic and by having all of these voices silenced in their factions we can stay coherent. Madison comes to the conclusion we are not going to have a large enough faction to tear the nation apart, but he is wrong because different opinions will always exist as long as people are free and self-love exist. These factions are inevitably going to tear the nation apart.
Representative government is a government in which people elect others to serve on their behalf in a legislature. The idea of a Representative government originated from the English Bill of Rights. A american colonies strongly believe in representative government because all 13 colonies elect members to an assembly, which was the lower house of colonial legislature. As stated in document A “He has refused to pass other laws for the accommodation of large districts of people, unless those people would relinquish the rights of Representation in the Legislature, a right inestimable to them and formidable to tyrants only.” The King refused to allow a large number of colonies to form their own legislature instead he wanted the colonies to be government by parliament which we argued that we had on body or input.

Meanwhile, the meeting of electors for the Electoral College is held on the first Monday after the second Wednesday in December. The Athenian’s radial democracy had many positive aspects, but it also proved to have its difficulties. First, only those who were “full citizens had an equal chance to serve in any number of capacities.” Which meant that slaves, resident foreigners, and usually women were barred from participating. Also, due to the radical nature of the government, the Athenian democracy was difficult to operate as assembly meetings were often attended by thousands of participants. Thus making it difficult for everyone to have a voice. Another major debacle of the Athenian democracy was the high cost associated with its operation.
Alexis de Tocqueville penned Democracy in America after he spent month America in the 1831, where he witnessed a new democratic system. He found it’s concepts to have unique strengths and weaknesses that he believed could be the inspiration for the new government of post-revolution France. The concepts of limiting individualism, encouraging positive associations, and moderating the tyranny of the majority that Tocqueville observed during his trip in America helped maintain the new democratic republic built after the revolution.
