In the autobiography, Farewell to Manzanar, Woody Wakatsuki, the main character's brother, shows actions that reveal who he is as a character. Woody is always positive and lighthearted, even at the hardest of times. The first way that Woody shows his lighthearted attitude is when he jokes around. " 'You get those covered up before breakfast time. Any more sand comes in here through one of them knotholes, you have to eat it off the floor with ketchup"' (Wakatsuki-Huston 25).
The armed forces have rendered critical support to state and local (SL) government dating back to the establishment of the nation. Post-9/11, the federal government has taken measures to foster a unity of effort while also encouraging interoperability among all levels of government and the private sector. As a state resource, the Army and Air National Guard (AANG) are under the command and control (C2) of their respective Governors and Adjutant General. Since its inception, the AANGs primary function has been to provide direct, and timely support in response to natural and man-made disasters. Historically, pieces of legislation such as the Posse Comitatus Act (1878) have affected the Department of Defense (DoD) limitations and scope during

Realizing the need, Major General Petraeus soon began to employ the division to work local nationals to restart water and electricity and working to reopen schools (Lundberg, 2008). Lacking any guidance from his leadership, Petraeus took many prudent risks in order to further see these plans through by utilizing his own assets. For example, according to Lundberg, he utilized assets such as Army engineers to begin clearing rubble and debris from cities, villages, and roadways. Conclusion Providing a strong leadership approach and willingness to take risk, Major General Petraeus was put on a mission to develop and implement strategy to establish stability in Mosul, Iraq.
They should of delegated the work to the 22 other agencies and seen what worked best for the overall department. The pressure of the recent attack on the United States put the agency under the microscope of the nation because everyone was on high alert. The first issue was that the DHS was having problems with coordinating actions
I am proud to recommend SSG Jacob Worley for consideration as a United States Army Warrant Officer Candidate. SSG Worley possesses the qualities required of a future Army Warrant Officer, specifically those needed to excel in the latest addition to the Warrant Officer Military Career Specialties (MOS), the Cyber Operations Technician, 170A. He has served as my Arabic Language Analyst and NCOIC of Analysis and Production for the 102 Combat Mission Team (CMT) for nearly two years. During this time his technical proficiency, attention to detail and adaptability has been equal and at times, has surpassed the skills of individuals assigned to more technical cyber roles within the team.
Some chronic problems happened to come back from past wars and continued to test the people in positions of power on their ability to prove if they have truly learned from those who made the decisions before them. One of those repeat offenders is the always present problem with the downsizing of the military in times of peace rendering it incapable to
My intent is to provide a clear vision to the 4th ABCT, that states, “Be the best armor brigade in the world, consisting of trained, responsible, motivated, and caring Soldiers and Families; capable of executing any assigned mission with unequaled success. The 4th ABCT has experienced several challenges that have led to ethical and moral issues along with a lack of confidence in the leadership. A vision will provide the ABCT with a motto, something to up hold. Therefore, how current business is conducted needs to change. In order, to make a change and address the challenges that 4th ABCT
In 2012, Headquarters Marine Corps Law Enforcement Section implemented the Marine Corps Law Enforcement Accreditation Program (MCLEAP). The purpose of the MCLEAP program was to evaluate the performance of the Marine Corps’ Provost Marshal’s Offices and Marine Corps Police Departments, identify innovative methods for utilizing limited, existing resources more effectively, and ensure every Marine Corps Installation has an efficient and professional law enforcement capability. Subsequently, MCIWEST-MCB CAMPEN Mission Assurance established a Law Enforcement Accreditation Assessment Team to assess all aspects of the Provost Marshal’s Office and Marine Corps Police Department’s Headquarters, Operations, and Services sections, using the
High security should be a priority for the employees to work in these centers. There are actions that may be suggested to make the DHS more involved into the Fusion Center. In order for the DHS to be involved more there should be more interaction from DHS with the Fusion Centers. There is a protocol in place; however, DHS and the other emergency management branches within that state should review it. Having the training and everyone being involved with the base line as well as the reviewing may make a difference down the road.
Once you put on that Adjutant General shield, you are immediately depended on. This dependence spans outside of just the Soldiers that you see and associate with on a regular basis. Soldiers rely on us, to not only make sure their records are updated accurately and on time, spouses look to us to make sure that pay is submitted correctly and timely, children look forward to the events we help coordinate, parents look to us to make sure we are giving their Soldiers the best information about the benefits they enlisted for. One thing that has always been taught to me is that, we have three tasks that will make or break us: efficiency, effectiveness, and meeting the needs of Soldiers. If we cannot submit documents in a timely matter, we have failed.
Here's something for you all too consider. Switch Communications currently employs roughly 200 employees. According to the article, they plan to hire 1000 employees. However, it's not clear as to how or when this goal will be achieved. U.S. Department of Labor LMI and SHRM indicts hiring of IT personnel for the State of Michigan is below market trends.
The Importance of Accountability in the U.S. Army Every living thing on Earth demands discipline and accountability, but when it comes to U.S. Army, soldiers are trained specifically in these subjects. There are extreme costs at risk if these principles are not held high by the Armed Forces. Most organized Armies focus on the importance of accountability and teach it in the very beginning stages of readiness. Accountability includes things such as showing up on time to safeguarding sensitive records, keeping account of resources to watching out for fellow soldiers. Almost everything can be tied back to the importance of accountability.
Time management in the military Eddie White DI Page Time management in the military Time management is very important as any organization or individual who want to achieve his/her goals must strictly observe time. Time management requires someone to prioritize some tasks in some way; one should label some tasks as more imp01iant than others. The key factor in effective time management is usually accuracy because when you have accurate model of reality you are in a position to determine which task is more important than other. You can only realize the real gains in time management at the top but not at the bottom. Inaccurate understanding of reality can make your missions, goals and your projects to be meaningless
