J.P Morgan believed the electricity can be something to own. Since he wants to leave a mark and the electricity might be his mark. Morgan wanted to have an investment with Thomas Edison and his new electric light bulb he invented. His home became like his laboratory. He installs many wires in his home with 400 light bulbs.
Garrett Morgan was a well-known African-American inventor, entrepreneur and pioneer for the black community, America and the whole world who made his mark on the society through his invention of a sewing machine enhancement, primitive gas mask, and traffic lights. In addition, he did have other inventions that did not have as much impact, but most people would say inventing is very hard, so that in its self is a feat. Mr. Morgan’s life did start out a little treacherous, but was nowhere close to the life of his ancestors, parents and some of his siblings. He was one of eleven children and got his work cut down. Morgan had a considerable impact on the United States. Although he did not have the excessive wealth of John D. Rockefeller or Andrew Carnegie, his influence on America was certainly much greater (Wepman 6). As mentioned, he was responsible for the merging of several companies, such as General Electric and United States steel. Not only did he form and finance these extremely successful corporations, but he also used his wealth in an altruistic manner. For example, in 1895, he loaned the federal government $60 million to save the gold standard (Kohn 5).
Morgan -- worked formidablely to gain wealth and stature in the United States of America's economic system. Born into a middle class family, John Pierpont Morgan was determined to acheive in the monetary entities of American society. He modeled himself after his father, Junius Spencer Morgan, who was an American banker and financer invovled in the dry-goods business. Graduating from the University of Göttingen, J.P. Morgan immediately surrounded himself with finance, as he involved himself in a London branch of banking. His most notable financial move was the merging of Edison General Electric and Thompson-Houston Electric Company to form General Electric.
Before the 1860s U.S. railroads were inefficient for big business to explode, and shipping goods wasn’t as easy before Cornelius Vanderbilt organized a steam ship company. He also controlled all lines of railroad linking New York to the Great Lakes. His strategy was to create a monopoly to gain wealth and power of all the effective railroad lines into one major company. He expressed competition and set unfair prices for the workers. The workers soon revolted and went on strike in 1877 due to the low pay and increase of work hours.
The economy grew because the costs were lower and the product was getting shipped faster (H., 2010). From the book “ The first Tycoon: The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt”, written by T.J. Styles, it says: “This was a major transformation of the railroad network, which previously had been fragmented into numerous short railroads, each with its own procedures, timetables, and rolling stock. The creation of a coherent system spanning several states lowered costs, increased efficiency, and sped up travel and shipment times.” He knew that he had complete power over some of the major railroads in America and he was very smart with how he used that power and knowledge (H.2010). He demanded respect from everyone (H.2010).
Rockefeller was the founder of Standard Oil, and helped revolutionize the gas and oil industry while Henry Ford revolutionized the factory setting and the assembly line. While JP Morgan was primarily a businessman, he revolutionized the basic business, and became a huge supporting cast for the railroad industry. Finally, Andrew Carnegie innovated the steel production industry, and made steel production and transportation thrive throughout the country. The individuals mentioned above are only a fraction of the many different people that thrived and helped develop America during the Gilded Age”. James Pierpont Morgan, also known as J.P.Morgan, helped prevent many economic crises because of the void of a U.S central bank and was one of the leading figures during the Gilded Age. James Pierpont Morgan would go on to reach substantial goals. He rebuilt failing companies to be successful investments, he was a god to the financial industry, and he also had a big nose. His legacy can be easily spotted today, like his nose in drawings.
Morgan is famous for his inventions. The most notable ones are the early gas mask and better stoplight. Also, the contributions he made were the starting point of more modern inventions. One of the most important events he was a part of was the Cleveland Waterworks Explosion (July 25, 1916).

Both a successful banker and a financier who brought organization to the national economy, J.P. Morgan had a major impact on the advancement and prosperity of the United States. Through the funding of railroads, Morgan aided in the construction of new systems which in turn provided for fast and easy transportation of goods, people, and livestock. He then went one step forward and linked railroads to each other, all of them to banks, and banks to insurance companies, which enabled the railroads to be easily funded by the banks. Despite his positive achievements that heavily impacted the U.S., Zinn presents Morgan’s achievements and character in a negative fashion. Zinn includes a statement written by Gustavus Myers describing how Morgan and other companies were in cahoots to monopolize the railroads and eliminate fair competition; thus, at the detriment of the people of the country.
One year after opening, it was deemed the largest testing laboratory in the world. Thomas Edison was a creative inventor that pushed the science world forward 100 years by inventing the lightbulb, quadruplex transmitter, telegraph, helping with the making of the telephone and much more. Plus he had a major positive impact on his decade by serving in the civil war, saving lives and creating jobs. He also had a major impact on the world by allowing safe lasting light with the light bulb, easy communication with the telegraph, and electrical distribution.

Thomas Edison’s inventions have helped to advance our society though his dedications and knowledge in mechanical, electrical, and chemical sciences.
