The United States needs to stay true to the constitution and itself by changing the minds of the people along with the times just as the interpretation of the words from the constitution have changed through the years. The people of the country think that assault weapons are not included in the second amendment, others think all guns should be illegal. Neither of these are correct. A gun is to be taken care of, respected. It is not a toy and kids should definitely not be able to get a hold of them, and parents should teach children to respect the power of the firearm and make sure they know how to be safe around them.
I agree with you Dondra, I support the banning these assault weapons, only for military use. I think about younger children who can get to these guns and parents don?t store them properly in the household. Not so much of the person getting permitted to buy the gun I blame the parents as well. There are so many issues dealing with gun control it is ridiculous. The government, gun seller, buy and people getting gun training.
Why is an assault weapon so unsafe to the public? The guns are made perilous in the minds of individuals, for it's the characters who control the guns. The nation's security will be protected if the sales harmful weapons were organized. There have been cases where people were in possession of the weapons were a threat to others. The dangers of the weapons will flourish if the obstacles aren't dealt with.
When the criminal is finally arrested, there a dozens of people who have been killed, injured, or fatally injured. All because of one man with a gun. Do you really want your life to be at risk because there is no law banning assault weapons? Do you want to walk down the hallway in fear of someone coming at you with a gun? According to an article from the Washington Post, written by Christopher Ingraham, the president/founder of a public opinions research, the ban on assault weapons lapsed, or expired, in 2004.
Gun Control: Assault Weapons Should be Banned in America In the past decade there have been many mass shootings which sparked a nationwide debate on the ban on assault weapons. Assault weapons are Semiautomatic weapons that are usually used in the military due to their advanced features. The difference between a Semiautomatic weapon and a regular pistol is that semiautomatic guns reload automatically and can fire consistently (Assault Weapons). Majority of Americans argue that Assault Weapons should be banned nationwide because of the amount of mass shootings caused by Assault weapons.
Gangsters might be gone ,but criminals are still around and they use assault weapons for their preference of mass murdering. Assault weapons should be banned. Assault weapons are far more dangerous than other guns. They shoot nearly a thousand bullets in a few seconds. This makes them more deadly than several handguns or other firearms that are not automatic.
I had one defining experience that really showed my transition from childhood to adult hood. I had the fantastic opportunity to participate in a residential high school, the South Carolina Governor's School for the Arts and Humanities, and the first year I had attended this school was my junior year. Going there I had known what I was required of both academically and artistically because I had already attended both of the summer intensives that they provided for my vocal performance. But my junior year is when I had experienced this change into my adult life and when I had left behind my childhood.
There’s no point in banning all sorts of guns at this point in time and everyone should know how to use this “self-defence” weapon efficiently. You can place a gun, a knife or a bat all side by side, none of them are going to do anything until someone picks them up to use them! The tragic shooting at Newtown reminded us not only of the need for gun control but also mental health support. From the day each individual graduates from this seven-day training period, every child will be required to carry assault rifles at all times of the day, whether it be in school, at the mall, or at home, in order to ensure the best protection. However, I am not an unreasonable person.
But what should be done about assault weapons? There should be no reason for homeowners and everyday citizens to own such things as an AR-15 or a Machine Gun. Assault weapons should not be permitted in the US. The majority of assault weapons that are used for these shootings are acquired legally by shooters. In some of the most recent major attacks, “killers in Las Vegas and Orlando attacks… walk into gun shops and legally purchase assault weapons” (Ingraham).
People people of the United States hope to change this in the years coming by banning. Even though certain people could still hold powers to assault weapons, they are trusted people and that they should only use them for serious
Military grade weapons are made for one reason and one reason only—to kill human beings. There is no reason for ordinary people to have access to this type of weaponry, especially semi-automatic rifles. More weapons, especially more semi-automatic weapons, does not mean less crime; semi-automatic weapons are not convenient for personal protection, and banning these weapons could help lower the number of mass shootings that occur in this country today. In 2016 alone, approximately 39,000 Americans were killed by guns, most of these deaths were caused by semi-automatic weapons (Lopez).
In America, guns are allowed with a permit which allows mostly everyone to have a gun. Carrying a concealed gun in public is dangerous for not only yourself, but the people around you as
This particular gun can be customized to kill even more efficiently with bump-fire stocks, which are completely legal (2018). The accessibility and popularity of this gun has made it the weapon of choice for many. This type of weapon has no place on the streets and neighborhoods of American people, which is why a ban on semiautomatic weapons and bump-fire stocks would prevent such lethal shootings, like the Orlando nightclub shooting where 50 people were killed or the Las Vegas shooting where 58 people were killed on the streets (The Washington Post, 2018). Many will say that a gun is a gun or that mass killings could be done with a knife, however, allowing anyone to buy a semiautomatic weapon and customize it to shoot at fast as an automatic gun that is used to fight in war combat is certainly not
Some however believe we as citizens of the United States should be able to own these assault weapons. To that i say there is no argument no citizen should be able to own a weapon of that magnitude. Rifles such as the AR-15 which shoots a 5.56 mm round which is the same as what the military uses. These guns are made to kill as quickly and efficiently as possible not to hunt or home defence they are made to kill. For 500 to $1200 you can purchase this weapon at the age of 18 years old that is insane to think
The definition of an assault rifle is muddy, as avid gun owners tend to disagree with the term as it’s used. Most say that assault rifles should only be defined as fully automatic military-style rifles (Goode), but for ease of understanding, let’s assume that they are what most of the public refers to them as- semi/fully automatic weapons. From the years 1982-2012, 99 of the weapons used in mass shootings were semi automatic handguns or rifles (Follman). In the Las Vegas shooting, where one man killed 58 and injured over 800, local police found 18 assault weapons in his hotel room (Alsup). This, coupled with America’s history of mass shootings, is a justifiable reason to at least bring up a
