General task of the profession
A veterinarian work with animals providing preventive, emergency,and other medical care. They can work with all types of animals from small pets to large wild animals. If you work with small animals like cats, dogs or birds you work in clinics where people brought their animals to you. If you work with large animals like horses the veterinarian must travel to the farm and treat the animal there. Veterinarians can also work in a mixed practice and treat all types of animals or with wild animals in zoo.

Pros and cons
Pros: You you get to work with animals and have a chance to help them get better when they are sick. You meet a lot of different animals in one day so the job never get boring. You can earn a lot of money and when you get more experience you can also open your own practice. …show more content…

You sometimes have to treat angry animals who will bite you. You must tell the owner that there isn't anything we can do to save you animal.

Education needed
The veterinary school in Sweden is Sveriges lantbruksuniversitet which is situated in Uppsala. The education is for 5,5 years. During the education you combines theory with practice. The last semester you do your degree project and you can also have extended knowledge in same subject. The swedish veterinary association and swedish university of agricultural sciences can you study different programmes and courses so you can become a specialist in some subject.
