Animals need just as much critical care and emergency treatment as humans do.There are many opportunities that handle hurt or ill creatures.There is another very demanding field other than veterinarians, this field is referred to as veterinary technicians. Veterinary Technicians is a very important career choice when considering a life caring for animals. Animals often themselves caught in unfortunate situations. In a similar case, a dog was rushed to the vet around 3 A.M on a Saturday morning. The poor animal had gotten a large fishing hook pierced through its paw, and mouth. Veterinary Technicians establish their name by participating in a two year veterinary technician/technology program that is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association. Classes involved with these programs are veterinary anatomy and physiology,pharmacology,parasitology, anesthesia and surgery, pathology, radiology, lab animal medicine, and animal behavior. A majority of these classes have labs, which allow for some hands-on learning. (Bryant, Joey). Credentialing of vet techs is now becoming essential in a majority of states. There are three credentials which are “licensed” veterinary technician (LVT), “certified” Veterinary Technician (CVT) , and a “registered” Veterinary Technician (RVT). Determining the placement of the aspiring vet tech depends on the Veterinary Technician National Exam. (McConnell, Janet). Knowing what to look for takes a lot of patience and knowledge. Veterinary Technicians must have certain qualifications to take care of animals. Most vet techs need to be compassionate and have good dexterity.
