Since the Holocaust, the United Nations have made sure to let everyone throughout the world have equal rights. This mass killing of Jews violated every right that they had. They were beaten to death, shot on spot, starved, poorly clothed, et cetera. No one deserves the harsh treatment that they got throughout World War II. Nearly six million Jews died during this regime of a Nazi leader named Hitler.
It potentially could be over-estimating the purpose behind German athletes in the 1936 Berlin Olympics. It could potentially be manipulating the purpose of the athletes from simply competing in the Olympics to pushing a broader message, therefore making the source slightly less reliable. The Olympic games have been around for a long time, and within that time they've shaped into something new. The Games have reformed especially in the aspect of who gets to compete. Firstly, the Olympic games hit some bumps in the road when the many different countries faced nationalism, like the conflict between the countries as a result of wanting to win. The Olympics are generally a time of fun competition to bring the world together. In 1936, it was for Nazi propaganda. The 1936 Olympics led one athlete, Jesse Owens, to success and broke Hitler’s racial theories. The Berlin Olympics was an opportunity for Hitler to prove Aryan suppurity, unfortunately the ban of Jewish athletes didn’t settle well with the IOC. This resulted into a boycott, until Hitler agreed to take down any Nazi propaganda.

The presence of sports has been felt in the majority of the world’s everyday lives. No matter where you are or where you reside, sports will always somehow make its way into your life. Along with sports, the injustice of the way people are treated will somehow always be seen in your life. Whether that is through the news, blogs, and or social media, the inducement treatment of people will be prevalent in your life as well. In 1968, the combination of sports and social injustice made its way onto the podium in the 1968 Olympics.

It can be said that the Olympic and Paralympic games serve as a vehicle for expressing British national and cultural identity. Personally, I agree as well as disagree with this sentiment. I believe that the spirit of the Olympic and Paralympic games are determinant upon the host city of the games. So, in regards to the most recent Olympic and Paralympic games, which took place in London and its surrounding areas, yes, the games served as a vehicle for expressing British national and cultural identity. However, with the upcoming games taking place in Rio de Janeiro the games will not express British national and cultural identity, it will express Brazilian national and cultural identity.
Should the Olympics stay in one place? Luke Every two years countries are spending billions of dollars on the Olympics. Why are we doing this when countries have children that are malnourished, and citizens that are homeless, or are in need? I believe we should keep the Olympics in fewer places.
