There is most likely going to be some form of corruption in any government system because someone is always trying to get ahead of the other person or they are trying to keep their powerful position; in small constituencies corruption basically runs the government as coalitions are constantly bribed and rewarded with private gains. This can occur because the coalition has a smaller amount of people and because the amount of supporters to payoff is small, more can be given to a select few who support the leader. In larger coalitions corruption is discouraged more so because of economics. Larger constituencies do not have as much money to allocate to its coalitions because the gross revenue profit take is going to be smaller. This means that even if they did try to pay off their coalition, there would not be enough money to make everyone happy. …show more content…
Instead, private benefits are given to larger constituencies because a large revenue is always available when they do feel the need to use some of it. The constituents do not have to have a larger percentage of that revenue at one time because they know it will still be there when they get ready for it and they have considered the fact that the large mass of people is greater and they will continue to make greater revenues, thus entitling them to even more private
