Pros And Cons Of Dual Enrollment

With being the first class in the Davenport school district to have dual enrollment was a great experience. Dual enrollment is when in middle school your teachers get together and decide if you would be fit to do what it takes to be a part of the program. They look at your test scores, your attendance, your homework accompliations, if you turned assignments in late or on time, and how well you dealt with a lot of things to do at once. Not a lot of people thought it would be a good idea to have. I believe dual enrollment should be the standard for all high school students that plan to enter high level learning. But while growing up your teachers had you thinking about that and what your plan would be even if your first choice didn’t work out. You will still need to go to college for another 3-4 years or even more, but depending on your major that’s going to be a given. Not a lot of the teachers taught at a college level and acted like they were all immature teenagers. So that’s why a lot of the teachers came from Scott College that way there wasn’t an issue with high school teachers teaching the college level courses. Many of them had to give up extracurricular activities to keep up with the school work that they had between high school classes and their college classes. Depending on the school that you planned to go to after you got out of high school, not all of your credits may transfer, but you will get that wherever you go. You could go to a 4 year university and graduate but move and go to a different college in a different state and your credits won’t always transfer over. You always had the constant pressure from the school, parents, friends and other community members to succeed in this program. They just wanted to see this program succeed and that they can make it work and since our class was the first class to have it there was a lot of pressure all around making sure that it
