When one graduate’s college it is usually one of the happiest days of their lives, they finally get to quit their low paying job and get a job that is much higher paying and hopefully a job they enjoy. However most of the time these newly college grads do not get to go buy a new car, or a house, or whatever else their heart desires instead; they have to spend about the next 20 years paying off their student loans. But what if there was another way, so that these newly grads do not have to spend 20 years paying off loans? Well maybe there is because in January of 2015 President Barrack Obama proposed the idea of free community college. This sounds great does it not?

According to The College Board; a full year of tuition in a four-year university cost Ninety-Four Hundred and Ten Dollars without its expenses, transportation, dorm and books fee. A first year college student could go to a four-year institution by their choice of a bigger bill to pay off or go to community college as a starter of their college career with a middle size bill to pay off. But what would happen if they passed the bill about going to a nearby community college was zero dollars as tuition?
Is College Really Worth the Cost? Most American goal in life is to earn a living when they come out of high school. But, maybe it isn’t really necessary that high school graduates need to feel ad if they are being rushed off to college. People who are hustled off to college discover that they would much rather be learning how to build things or fix things. College students and graduates are facing debt, unemployment/ drops in wages, and some would rather learn with their hands.
I agree with this article. For-profit colleges help people in their education in a lot of different ways. However, many people earn a degree to get a job. If the debt that they procure while doing so is more money than that which the degree can help pay off, that degree will have lost its meaning. Some parents are horrified at the thought of their teen living without supervision and being able to come and go as they please. Partying at sorority or fraternity houses is all parents think college consist of. It 's a place to learn and grow as an individual, a place of hope for a fresh start.

GPA’s a better representation on a student’s performance in school. A student’s high school grade point average is the reflection of a student’s academic performance through their four years (Sheffer, 2014). When colleges look at someone’s ACT or SAT score they only see how well the student is in a limited time frame. Many colleges and Universities do take GPA into consideration, but ACT and SAT scores seem to be more important. Opponents of free college tuition claim that if students want to go to a university they can search for a scholarship. Maybe free education could give us more students in universities. But, it would be just like high school again. People who were bad and screw around in high school will be bad and they will do the same. With being the first class in the Davenport school district to have dual enrollment was a great experience. Dual enrollment is when in middle school your teachers get together and decide if you would be fit to do what it takes to be a part of the program. They look at your test scores, your attendance, your homework accompliations, if you turned assignments in late or on time, and how well you dealt with a lot of things to do at once. Not a lot of people thought it would be a good idea to have. I believe dual enrollment should be the standard for all high school students that plan to enter high level learning.
