Gambling as a potential problem of society
There are hundreds of way people can spend their time to have their own satisfaction. Satisfaction may be related with games and activities that people admire and are passionate about. What is interesting is these games can bring benefits and harm as well. The one of them is gambling.
The first thing that needs to be said is gambling, regularly defined as a simple form of entertainment. The actions of many people have become difficult to control over years. As observations were made from the class discussion about Australia, every year the number of gambling addicts are increasing, causing the attention of government that they have to bring a policy that might stop this insanity. The other side of aspects of issue is the quick development of legal gambling. These two contradictions, expansions of legal gambling and attempts to prevent it were the striking topics as an issue on agenda setting.
This paper has introduction part that states and identifies the main problems and influences of gambling on community and state development. In main part based on problems stated in introduction part, 3 main alternatives are offered with their cons and pros. After comparing and discussing the optional alternatives, suggestion of best one is offered as a policy recommendation to solve the problem with minimum loss, maximum benefits regarding to all stakeholders. Matrix is made appropriately with political and institutional constraints explanations and implementation issues as well.
