Medical reform has been an intense topic of discussion since its resurfacing in the late twentieth century. This is especially true since the enactment of the Affordable Care Act by President Barack Obama. He was able to implement the start of America’s first governmental based coverage however; this was not done without opposition. Many Americans continue to debate topics such as; does every American deserve equal healthcare coverage? Can the American economy withstand the financial burden associated with universal healthcare? Will the government use medical reform as another means of power over its citizens? These are among many of the intriguing matters that are routinely probed in the medical reform debate.
