If someone had asked you the question, “ What does the United States Healthcare System revolve around?” What would you say? Would you say politics? Healthcare? Money? If any of those were your answer, you are correct. To some, requiring citizens to have health insurance is a no brainer, and agree it should be required by the government. These people, typically, are those who are actually able to afford health insurance. On the contrary, others believe it is wrong to require payment of health insurance, especially to those who are already struggling with money. Is it a matter of all citizens contributing to society? I think this is unfair because that means the working class who pays taxes is now supporting those who cannot. No one can predict their future, and no one knows if they will fall ill or be rushed to the ER. Having health insurance will grant security to the patients’ bank accounts and not leave them drained. Everyone needs to be able to pull their own weight in society. If everyone was required to have health insurance, or at least contribute to the pool of money American’s pay into, then everyone contributes. On the other side, obtaining health insurance from a low economic standpoint would be rather difficult. Health insurance is costly, and some with little money may find it hard, if not impossible, to pay for health insurance. If someone is financially burdened, adding another bill to the pile may not be the best option for them. Some may argue that this is an act of taking away our basic rights. I think this argument is both political and personal. Requiring people by law to have insurance deals with politics, but is this right? Some may ask if the government should be able to tell them what they should and should not spend their money on. Forcing those to pay for health insurance that they cannot afford may also make them feel forever indebted to the U.S Government. Finally, ask yourself if it is right for someone to not be able to see a physician because they do not have the money for health
